Matt 28:18-20
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
NIV
John 20:10-16
10 Then the disciples went back to their homes, 11 but Mary stood outside
the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb 12 and
saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the
head and the other at the foot.
13 They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?"
"They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they
have put him." 14 At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there,
but she did not realize that it was Jesus.
15 "Woman," he said, "why are you crying? Who is it you are looking for?"
Thinking he was the gardener, she said, "Sir, if you have carried him
away, tell me where you have put him, and I will get him."
16 Jesus said to her, "Mary."
She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, "Rabboni!" (which means
Teacher).

Enoch and
Jeannine Thweatt are scheduled to return to Taiwan for another WEI
campaign this month. They report that six teachers have signed up thus
far, including veteran teachers Sarah Coggins from Alabama and Larry Raper
of Cookeville, Tennessee. New teachers include Rodney and Carole English
of Nashville. Rodney is a retired salesman and serves as a substitute
teacher for Metro schools. Carole taught in the education school, Peabody,
and is now retired from Metro Public Schools as an elementary school
principal. Praise God for such a talented group of teachers. Dick
Ady and the Thweatt's
were missionaries together in Taiwan way back when--between 1968 and 1974.

UNEXPECTED RETURN
This has been a blessedly eventful month. Our oldest son, Bruce, was able
to be in Taipei with us, ostensibly to take part in the class reunions of
the Taipei American School. But since those activities used only three of
his days there, he blessed us by teaching some of our classes and being a
true encourager for all of us.
While Bruce was there, we had phone calls from the States saying that
Enoch’s brother in Florida was comatose and not expected to live. We were
able to get seats on a flight out Friday night, October 23, and were with
Dan on Sunday. God’s timing is awesome! Bruce handled our duties in
Taipei, and we were with Dan to see the beginnings of his recovery. The
cause of the problem is unknown; Dan is undergoing therapy, and the
prognosis is good. His gregarious personality is back in place, and we
thank God!
RETURN TO TAIWAN
We have made reservations for a flight back to Taiwan, leaving here
November 7. This fall our student load has been light, but we are eager to
get re-connected with all of our readers. In addition, Brother Phil
Gardner will arrive in Taipei on November 11 to begin his WEI classes.
Although Ryan Campbell is in full time language school, he is able to meet
with 3 or 4 students each week. His classes in Mandarin Chinese are going
really well. His vocabulary is increasing at an unusual speed, and his
prayer (in Chinese) on a recent Sunday morning expressed his deep
spiritual conviction. There will be two special days while we are in
Taiwan. On Nov 29, the church will host its fourth annual Thanksgiving
Sunday, inviting all WEI students, friends, Christians, and neighbors.
It’s always a great day! Then around Dec 12 the Tian Mu church will host a
Christmas party for the Ti Hwei Children’s Home. We are glad we can have a
part in this, and hope to help make it a joy-filled time.
ZHONGHUA
Since we have been in Nashville only a few days, we have not been too
involved with the Zhong Hua activities. Enoch did re-connect with his
Nashville WEI student, and also preached at our Sunday worship service.
THANK YOU
You are a blessing to us and our work among Chinese people, and we pray
that, together, we all are giving glory to God! Our love to you.
